Access statement
Our aim is to allow guests with a disability or specific requirements, access to as much of the park as is reasonably possible. We will always try to meet a guest’s particular needs, if at all possible.
The Park
Access to the park is off the A140, down ½ mile of straight B road and down a double width drive.
The gates are locked overnight for security, between 11pm and 7am.
The park is level and pitches are reached from a main loop road or small offshoot roads.
All the electric pitches also have a television socket and there is free wifi available across the park.
Mobile phone coverage is patchy, however there is a payphone located at the front of reception.
Water, waste water and elsan points are located next to each shower block.
The shop and reception building stocks essential groceries and camping equipment, freezing facilities for freezer blocks, gas exchange and tourist information.
The fishing lake is fenced for safety and is accessed through gates.
The swims are wooden platforms, some of which can be accessed by wheelchair guests. There are emergency life rings at either end of the lake.
Facilities for disabled guests
Access to the shop is up a shallow ramp and through double doors.
There is a fully equipped disabled room in each shower block. The washing up room is accessible for wheelchairs guests but not the laundry.
Our glamping accommodation would be accessible to guests with minor mobility problems only, but unfortunately, not for wheelchair guests. The Shepherd’s Hut is not suitable for any guest with mobility problems.
Facilities for children
There is a well-equipped play area for children, with a bark surface. There is also room for ball games next to the play area.
Cycle hire is available, including baby seats and trailer and children’s cycles.
Facilities for dog owners
Dog waste bins are located around the park.
There are mapped walks from the park, available.
Dog rings are on each building.
We have a fenced dog walk available.
We offer a dog-sitting service at our farm for daytime or overnight.
Transport
The local bus route is a 10 minute walk from the park.
The nearest train station is 4 miles away.
Local taxis are available and we would be happy to book them for you at reception.
Cycle hire is available from reception, with various routes also available.
Emergencies
There is a list of emergency telephone numbers located at reception.
Fire extinguishers are located around the park.
A defibrillator is located at reception.
There are first aid trained staff in reception.
An emergency warden’s telephone number is displayed in the door of reception overnight.
Staff are always on hand to help with whatever we can.
