Butterfly on a purple flower

We love sharing our beautiful, rural Norfolk with our guests. Here are some of the ways in which we try our very best to promote sustainability, and protect our wildlife and the natural environment:

PIR sensors in the shower blocks – the lighting in the shower, WC, and disabled blocks are fitted with motion sensors for energy savings. Our shower blocks also include non-concussive taps that automatically shut off after a few seconds to minimise water wastage.

LED low-energy bulbs operate around the park, with sensors for our festoon lighting switching on and off in line with the level of darkness.

Recycling facilities are available across the site along with signage reminders to encourage guests and staff to recycle wherever possible. We also only use paper bags, recyclable coffee cups, and recyclable ice cream pods in the shop.

Our shop stocks a large range of locally sourced produce from meat, eggs, and bread, through to wines and beers, helping towards our carbon footprint.

General waste is sent to a local energy recovery facility (ERF) which produces green energy for the county.

Large areas of the site are left wild, and piles of old logs provide natural habitat for a wide array of wildlife, including our large bug house.

We’ve implemented a borrowing corner where we keep hold of books, beach toys, field games, and other items donated by our campers and make them available for use by other families.

We leave our bio-diverse land at Muntjac Meadow throughout the winter and spring to support wildflower growth and insect life.

The Deer’s Glade work van is electric along with our robot mover. Plus, we have an EV-charge point located at our main car park.

The future holds big plans for us to reduce our carbon footprint. The farm will soon be powered by solar energy (the process is already set in motion) and we will also be using biodiesel throughout the park in the very near future.
